FNSS PLASTIC BATTLE ARMOUR MODELING SHOW

07.06.2016

The ninth Plastic Battle Armour Modelling Show, organised with the sponsorship of FNSS, will open its doors to all model enthusiasts on September 3. This contest, in which scaled plastic land vehicle models and various figure models compete, attracts not only model makers but also fans of the hobby to the FNSS facility in Gölbaşı, Ankara. While modellers from cities around Turkey take part in the event, enthusiasts of this hobby living in Ankara can also see this important event. This event, in which the number of young modellers participating is ever increasing, also contributes significantly to FNSS’ social responsibility activities.

Hundreds of vehicle and figure models compete in various categories at the event, and what distinguishes this organisation from other examples from around the world is that it is organised in a facility that produces land vehicles. This gives participants and visitors alike the opportunity to observe FNSS-produced vehicles, to inspect these products closely, and to be given information by officials. This experience, which is unique for modellers interested in land vehicles, is offered to Turkish modellers by FNSS.

Following the competition’s award ceremony, which is becoming a tradition in its own right, modellers and those interested in taking up the hobby will have the opportunity to join workshops organised by experienced modellers, where they can practice and learn various techniques.

Additionally, together with its general assessment meetings that bring the participants and jury members together, this contest also allows for the exchange of opinions regarding the quality of the models taking part in the study; the mistakes made in these models; technical practices and expectations for the next contest, thus providing a significant platform where Turkish modellers can develop their skills.
